One problem that I have is the anti-wind heavy building doors in Stuy Town. I'm passably okay with using my upper strength and leaning into the door with my outstretched hand, but this can be a pain in the ass. I almost fell when a person, who I didn't see, tried to help me by pushing the door while I was opening it. My balance was gone. A lot of times, people who go in and out see me coming and hold the door open, for which I am thankful. But those heavy door can be a problem. This video clip has another strategy.
This blog is for people using mobility aides like walkers, canes, rollators, wheelchairs, and electric aides. It is focused on Stuy Town (and Peter Cooper), but is for anyone with those issues or knows of someone who does.
